Amanda _08Amanda Ball, AHDB Dairy head of communications, will be chairing the Adding global value to a commodity product session at the OMSCo dairy conference 2015 on Thursday 1 October.

This year’s conference titled Positive Dairying: Winning in the global marketplace takes place at the national Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham and is organised in partnership by OMSCo and Farm Business.

At the conference keynote speaker Sean Rickard will be talking about global dairy trends, and questioning where the world market is taking us, and where that will leave British dairy farmers. There will be particular emphasis on returns and ‘fair’ pricing, and a close look at what opportunities the overseas market will offer producers in the years ahead.

Leading technical speakers will also provide practical advice for farmers on how to play to win in the global market. For example, Jo Scammel, independent agricultural advisor and Nuffield Scholar, will talk about how to improve livestock health and performance through healthy forages, produced by healthy soils. And organic farmer and Nuffield Scholar Wil Armitage, who runs a 350-head autumn calving herd and a 250-head spring calving herd in Leicestershire and Rutland, will share his practical experiences on getting the most out of his key natural resource.

The conference is free to attend however, places are limited. Register your attendance at the OMSCo website.
