Following the ‘crisis’ talks on Monday involving the farming industry and ministers from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the Government has laid out its priorities for the dairy industry for the coming months.

In the upcoming EU Commission meeting (7 September), Liz Truss, Environmental Secretary, has stated she wants to emphasise the need for a futures market, insurance for dairy products and clearer labelling of products.

Ms Truss also wanted an increased industry role in future trade missions to China and other destinations, in order to drive a rise in UK exports.
