High-tech dairy farming

The dairy farming industry is much more technologically sophisticated than most people would assume. Ensuring the cows are cared for at the highest level has moved on leaps and bounds. Recent advances are proving helpful to dairy farmers by increasing efficiency, streamlining processes and supporting animal health and welfare, on farms.   

The Western Daily Press (11/3/2015) reports on two examples of technology being applied in real life situations. The use of drones to monitor slurry spreading or finding a stray cow through to the gradual take-up by farmers of robotic milking systems in parlours.
