This module will focus on two different aspects: Collaborative Ventures and Impact Groups.

Collaborative Ventures

Support is provided for individuals who wish to explore the potential benefits of working together through collaborative ventures.

A series of open meetings are held throughout Wales focusing on the different types of Collaborative Ventures that are available to Welsh dairy farmers.

The meetings will see experts in the field providing information on the general outlook for current collaborative ventures such as contract rearing, contract farming, share milking, partnerships, crop growing and farm business tenancy agreements.

Farmers who show an interest at the open meeting will then have the opportunity to visit a working farm where a collaborative venture is in operation so farmers will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from a farmer perspective.

Following the farm visit a workshop will be arranged to provide farmers with further guidance on certain legal, tax, regulatory and management issues that arise, when undertaking a collaborative venture.

A series of booklets and case study factsheets are available to farmers showcasing the advantages and disadvantages of collaborative ventures as well as the different types of contract agreements that are available.
